Il presente elaborato tratta il tema del rapporto tra la realtà mediale e i minori. La ricerca, condotta attraverso la consultazione e l’approfondimento di autorevoli fonti scientifiche, inizia dall’analisi dei rischi e delle potenzialità del virtuale nei confronti di bambini e adolescenti. In seguito, si concentra sui modelli di riferimento per il minore, che concorrono alla formazione della sua identità. Nello specifico si trattano i modelli riscontrabili sul web e nella vita reale, discutendo poi della necessità di un intreccio coerente e armonico tra identità reale e virtuale. Nell’ultima parte del lavoro si affronta la tematica della Media Education e del dovere di educatori, genitori e insegnanti di guidare il minore nella comprensione e nell’utilizzo dei nuovi media e dei social networks. L’obiettivo dell’elaborato è quello di rendere coscienti gli adulti, che hanno un ruolo educativo, riguardo l’importanza di non sottovalutare, eliminare, ignorare o lodare la realtà mediale, ma di avere un atteggiamento prudente e critico nei suoi confronti. Solo in questo modo e attraverso la testimonianza e l’esempio degli adulti, i minori potranno imparare a vivere nello spazio virtuale in sicurezza e serenità ma anche con consapevolezza e attenzione.

This paper deals with the theme of the relationship between media reality and minors. The research, conducted through the consultation and study of authoritative scientific sources, begins with the analysis of the risks and potential of the virtual towards children and adolescents. Subsequently, it focuses on the models of reference for the minor, which contribute to the formation of his identity; Specifically, it deals with the models found on the web and in real life, then discussing the need for a coherent and harmonious intertwining between real and virtual identity. The last part of the work addresses the issue of Media Education and the duty of educators, parents and teachers to guide the minor in the understanding and use of new media and social networks. The goal of the paper is to make adults, who have an educational role, aware of the importance of not underestimating, eliminating, ignoring or praising media reality, but of having a prudent and critical attitude towards it. Only in this way and through the testimony and example of adults, minors will be able to learn to live in the virtual space in safety and serenity but also with awareness and attention.
