This paper deals with the theme of the relationship between media reality and minors. The research, conducted through the consultation and study of authoritative scientific sources, begins with the analysis of the risks and potential of the virtual towards children and adolescents. Subsequently, it focuses on the models of reference for the minor, which contribute to the formation of his identity; Specifically, it deals with the models found on the web and in real life, then discussing the need for a coherent and harmonious intertwining between real and virtual identity. The last part of the work addresses the issue of Media Education and the duty of educators, parents and teachers to guide the minor in the understanding and use of new media and social networks. The goal of the paper is to make adults, who have an educational role, aware of the importance of not underestimating, eliminating, ignoring or praising media reality, but of having a prudent and critical attitude towards it. Only in this way and through the testimony and example of adults, minors will be able to learn to live in the virtual space in safety and serenity but also with awareness and attention.
